Flowers and Forklifts

The fresh produce markets are really something else. I was expecting it to be fun and bustling with people buying all kinds of fruit and vegetables. It was full, but with forklifts. There seemed to be hundreds of them and they were buzzing around everywhere! My sister, her two children, and I went on the wrong day, when only businesses were purchasing food (and my the palette ). So instead of pretending to own a fruit shop, we just walked around dodging forklifts for a bit to see what it was like. There was most beautiful fruits and vegetables in colossal quantities, with farmers chattering among themselves at their respective sections. It was early, and they'd been there for hours already, but everyone seemed cheerful and perky.

The forklifts were a bit scary, especially when your responsible for ensuring two children aren't run over, so the flower markets right next door was a much more relaxed environment. So many flowers all in one place, it was glorious! with a bagful of flowers at hand, the cafe just outside gives you a chance to rest and collect yourself whilst ignoring the whizzing forklifts outside.

We walked away content with a lovely bunch of flowers to brighten my study, and covered in the crumbs of cookies and scones!
