Once in an Orange Moon

I find that in my memories from childhood, I remember things to be much bigger than they are in reality. the encyclopedias that I used to go through for my school assignments, the house seemed more like a castle, you get get my drift. But something magical happens for a couple of days a month, every month, and we get to relive our childhood memories. There is an optical illusion that lets our moon appear as massive as we remember it to be, and as orange as it was on some of those balmy summer nights on the veranda.

Maybe It's just me, as I was the 7 year old who asked for a telescope from Santa, but a big orange full moon really hits me with specific childhood memories. Obviously I'm content to keep this type of nostalgia, I'm now an adult who asks for telescopes for Christmas! That being said, the credit of setting up the telescope is always to John, he is the astronomer of the two of us. But we equally love the beautiful outcomes of our pieces of equipment.

This photo was taken from our balcony last night as we noticed it raising of the city and through some misty clouds.
